Rolando Pozos-Villarreal is an Advisory Director and has investment banking and business experience of over 12 years.  He specializes in capital raising, mergers and acquisitions and other strategic advisory transactions across multiple industries.  Rolando has a particular expertise in Latin American and Hispanic oriented middle-market firms both privately and publicly owned. His former position as Head of Latin America at Bear Stearns a division of JP Morgan in Los Angeles includes working in transactions coordinated among the investment banking team, the emerging markets debt desk and mortgage-backed securities group.  Rolando led the efforts to introduce the Bear Stearns’ private client services platform in Mexico to serve corporations, broker dealers and institutional clients.  He also developed and maintained close relationships for the firm with major corporations, financial institutions and government agencies in Mexico and Latin America, including business and political leaders.  Rolando originated and completed several public and private transactions in Latin America for industrial, food & beverage, financial services and real estate companies.  Furthermore, Rolando’s investment banking experience at Bear Stearns includes a variety of sell and buy-side transactions in the United States and Asia. Prior to Bear Stearns, Rolando worked at Deloitte & Touche Corporate Finance in Los Angeles for the firm’s Industrials team and was focused in M&A transactions for global manufacturing companies in the steel, plastics, paper and packaging industries.  He was also engaged in several European led transactions as the firm’s liaison for their investment banking activities in the U.S.  Prior to Deloitte, Rolando worked  at Ernst & Young Corporate Finance in Los Angeles in projects involving acquisitions, divestitures and capital raising for U.S. firms in the telecommunications, healthcare and manufacturing industries.  Before becoming an investment banker he worked in Monterrey Mexico at Deacero, the 3rd largest steel-wire producer in the world, as an exports & strategy manager.  He led Deacero’s sales strategy area and the two-year reengineering process for its international operations.  speeches and publications Rolando is continuously invited to participate as a panelist in several Latin American and Hispanic business forums in both Mexico and U.S.   At Deloitte & Touche Corporate Finance, Rolando, established Deloitte’s Global Quarterly Packaging Industries Review with proprietary research & industry analyses. community involvement Rolando was the founder of “Nostra Causa”, a private organization supporting programs to aid homeless children in Mexico.  He is also an active member of the World Education & Development Fund in New York which sponsors educational programs for children in Latin America.  He also participated with United Way in Los Angeles in the Junior Achievement program teaching corporate finance to high school students.  Education Rolando holds a MBA from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California with a major in Corporate Finance, Financial Markets & Investments.  Rolando also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the I.T.E.S.M. (Tec de Monterrey). Personal Rolando was born in Monterrey Mexico and has lived in Los Angeles since 2001.  In his free time, he enjoys jogging, beach volleyball, sailing and pilates.   He is also an avid traveler and practices a variety of water sports.
